This weekend has been a whirlwind , in a crazy, happy, buzy way. Peter left on Sat morning for a *boys* weekend away, and so Idecides that if I was to be at home with the boys, then we would have fun too. So the usual weekend house work chores have been put on hold, and we have had some fun instead.
Yesterday I took us off to Southland for lunch out at a cafe (this is a rare treat), and some shopping for a birthday present.
Popped into Target - not sure why I bothered though as the hype was still on in the toy section. madness everywhere. Not my scene for shopping at all. I had a few items on a list from the current sale catelogue. Couldn't find any of them. Found a wall intead - covered in the pages of the catelogue, and these then covered in turn with coloured stickers. The stickers represented "sold out", Can be rainchecked or Layby only. Nearly everything on the wall was stickered!!! What a sale??? Sold out 2 days after it started?! Guess I was just not crazy enough to go tHURSDAY mORN.
So decided to leave the hype of Target, and went to a book shop. What the??? Crazy there too - of course it was. LOL Harry Potter was released yesterday morning. Mmmmmm I obviously chose a busy morning to shop. So finished the early afternoon with a stop at he play area for kids at Southland, and lunch brought out to us ( the boys consider that to be eating at a restaurant LOL). Home for a sleep for Jonathan, and then late afternoon . sat down to watch a new film for the boys ( our version of a boy's movie night) Had tea, then finished the film. (Happy Feet). Then put three very tired boys to bed :)
Found some "ME TIME" (Helen -without the guilt of leaving Peter in the other room cause he wasn't home ;) ) and started another scrapping project. Will post pics when it is finally done. Stayed up late watching Pretty Woman for the 100th+ time and then waited for the
" Tour De France" to come on. I am not a big bike rider - but im hooked on the scenery!! On that note - those bike guys are mad. the things that they are doing to their bodies. Uck.
Today we took Peter's car off for a wash at the Car Wash near home. Couldn't get over the line of cars waitng to be washed!!! Obviously everyone had the same idea as us. The boys really wanted to stay and get "Daddy's car clean again" as a surprise for him when he comes home. from there we took a picnic lunch off to Mordialloc. It was a georgeous day, so it was really nice to be able to sit and watch the kids have fun outside without the fear of freezing. Took a walk out onto the pier, and checked out the people *fishing* on the end. I am sure that if these guys ate fish tonight , they probably stopped in at the local fih 'n chip shop. IYKWIM.
It is really nice to be able to put the boys to bed tonight, and know that we had a really happy day, and that they have gone to bed delightfully tired. Family time is just so important.
Time for me to hit the pillow too....
so till next time,
Cheers.
