We stayed in a great little cabin - room for six to sleep. M&C were thrilled to be allowed to sleep on the top bunk. Self contained with bathroom and all kitchen equp and linen supplied. All we needed to take was lots of yummy food and clothes. (and everything else I took "just in case we need it") Just as well as the car boot was FULL.
This visit to the prom has becom a tradition for our large group of friends - meeting there for the last 12 years. Some stay in the large cabin (sleeps 30) , while others camp or have their own smaller cabins.
We took it easy, had lots of small walk around Tidal River. Boys loved the Board walk. It was great to see how the area is recovering after last year's bad bush fire.We had lots of rain over the weekend, mostly in showers - but we still managed to get out and about alot. The boys managed to find LOTS of puddles!!
Cameron was facinated with the stackings of wombat poo around the place. Love this pic of him pointing out a little pile he had found.I haven't been to the Prom when the weather is warm - and don't think I want to.
One of the attractions for us going at this time of year is the peacefulness of the area. Not many people around brings the wildlife right out to our doorstep!
It is cold, clean, crisp and refreshing. ( I do like the heater in our cabin though LOL)
This pic of Peter and the boys was taken very late in the afternoon. i really love the feel of this - with the 4 boys together - looking out to the ocean. What adventures lay ahead????
By this stage both M and C had adopted a stick each and were eager to draw in the sand.
J was content to be carried around on Daddy's shoulders.
At night we went wombat and possum hunting..... managed to see quite a few of both.
Gosh those possums down there are cheeky!!!! They raid EVERTHING. Even J's pusher which we had left out after we came back from the walk at night. One cheeky possum had climbed into the pouch in the back of the pusher and heled himself to a packet of biscuits in there. Caught it munching away. It didn't even move. Simply looked at us and kept munching .
This is a pic of some of us wombat hunting - Cam is in the middle shining his torch at me ( so I could find him in the dark LOL).Will post more pics soon. I am hoping that blogger will play tonight.
Cheers for now,
Lisa
