Boy have we been busy this last week! So sorry that I haven't done my homework. I keep putting it off as I want to add so many photos ( but that takes time in itself resizing etc). So here is a quick rundown of our Silly season.The days before chrissy were full of fun and chaos - as I am sure everyone's was. - you know - those last minute pressies, food to organise, presents to wrap. Although I am really not sure why I bothered wrapping any of Peter's presents - the boys had already told him what they were giving him. They just couldn't help themselves.
Peter and I took geat delight in seeing the boys' reactions to the chhristmas lights around the streets. We have a few lights decorating our house - but some people near us put in such a HUGE effort. Thanks for the entertainment! Jon's reaction was to gasp all the time while holding the mouth in an O shape and pointing to the light. He was getting SOOOOOO excited.
Christmas Eve was full of excitement this year. We did all of our jobs with LOTS of enthusiasm. Put out our special reindeer food on the grass ( a mixture of oats, rice and glitter) , left carrots and water near the front door. Put out the magic front door key so Santa could come in. Left supper out for Santa. Lucky guy had choccies and shortbread to eat.
I was woken at 3.30 am by a VERY excited Cameron wipering in my ear - "Santa's been!!!!! Come with me mummy" Got out of bed - had a quick look at the goodies under the tree and managed to convince Cam to get back to bed for a wee bit longer. That lasted till 5.30 when he was up again. Did the same routine - only to find Mitchell up at 5.45 with the thunderstorms. He came back to bed for a sleep with us.
Christmas morning found us shivering with a cold day. ( The coldest Chistmas day on record for Melb - 14 C). The boys are now the proud owners of a pedal cart ( Jon was the first in the driver's seat, and a Geotrax trainset. Opened lots of pressies to each other then off to Peter's brothers for lunch with the White Clan. Lots of food, Lots of pressies and lots of fun. The way Christmas should be.
Late afternoon we travelled to my sister's in Kilsyth for tea with my family.
After a feast for tea we were treated to another visit from Santa ( thanks to my brother Michael) who just wanted to see if everyone had had a happy day. Then gave out some more pressies. Cam and Mitch are now so fast in unwrapping pressies!! LOL The joys of childhood.This last few days we have been busy preparing the garden for the new water restrictions. Lots of new mulch, new dripper hoses, timers for taps and a new edging for our Cherry at the front.
Will add more photos soon - just need to get myself organised. LOL
