We had our break up at playgroup this week and Santa came for a visit. Even though this Santa was such a lovely quiet Sants, Jon was just not going to have a bar of it all and clung to me the whole time. Not really a problem for the day - although it was going to be on Friday when the official Santa pics were to be taken. IYKWIM.
Sooo out came a spare suit of Santa's from the cupboard and we started dressing up at home with it. I thought that if we desensitised J he might feel better with the real thing. In I come - dressed as santa but withut the beard and Jon doesnt want a cuddle - and that is NOT like J at all. Mitch and Cam thought it was just a huge joke to have me dressed up as Santa - and then wanted their own turns too. Grabbed the camera and took a few pics - Pity a still camera doesnt capture the HO HO Ho that came out of Cameron too. :)
Poor mitch absolutely swam in this large suit - he looks more like an elf.!!
Friday found us at Southland with Peter's mum and Dad, and the boys cousins and one sister in law to visit Santa. David Jones was our destination - and I really cannot reccommend this Santa highly enough. We were initially wondering why the small que was taking a while to move - and then we saw Santa in action. He was getting down on the floor with the children who were uncertain with him and PLAYING WITH THEM!!! No "plonk them on my lap then take the pick - nextkiddo please" from this santa. No instead he chatted with all the kids - gained their confidence and then when ready had the photos taken.
Jonathan was very unsure of this Santa to start with, and they had a lovely time palying together -(the reaction from the the twins and cousins was amazing afterwards "Santa played with us!!!!") and we managed to have him almost on Santa's lap - but them all he wanted was me. I handed him to his cousin Sharley to hold for the photo instead. Im happy with this one.
Santa then started chatting about the children's Stocking lists - while asking individually by their names.
Bless you Santa - and the joy you gave six litttle children on Friday morning.
So hope that all Santa's helpers are having fun during the silly season - and can take a rest from all that wrapping soon!!!
