WOW, and DOUBLE WOW. What a party we were at last night. We travelled to Wallan yesterday to help some dear friends of ours celebrate their birthday's. Chuck and 2 of his 4 children have a birthday within two weeks of each other - so this year it was all combined into one big bang - literally.
On arrival there were teenagers everywhere, kids everywhere - families everwhere. Chuck and Leanne live in a beautiful house on a acre - and so they planned a very special event (with the aid of a friend). At 9.00 we were all treated to a fireworks display. - all from their backyard. This was done by a mate of the family who is a licenced pirotechnitian.
Mitch and Cam were unsure to start with - but Cameron today couldn't stop talking about it all - so I guess he must have enjoyed it. LOL I loved watching Jonathan's face - he was transfixed the whole time - just the occasional grin towards me . It was so cold last night to be standing outside watching fireworks, but SOOOO worth it.
Sadly, this could be Chuck's last birthday with his family. Just short of two year's ago he was diagnosed with Motor Nuerone Disease. A terminal progressive illness. So now the vibrant, strong and always on the go man that we have known for 19 years, is in a motorised wheelchair, and losing his physical strength everyday. Not his sprit however!! Inside is the same ol chuck that we have loved and admired. Their family unity is amazing. So no wonder last night was such a special time to be able to celebrate what we have right here - and right now.
It certainly makes me so ever thankful for my own family.
Till next time,
L
