WILSON"S PROM get away

I have LOTS of pics from our weekend away. It is always so good to get to a place where the feeling of living with nature takes over. Yes it was a cold weekend, but we still managed to have loads of fun. In all I believe that our "group" has grown to around 80 people - all in various parts of accomodation. The main bunch were in the big 30 bed cabin, with another group opposite in the 12 bed cabin. We stayed in one of the little eco cabins over near the boardwalk. As did two other families we are good friends with. As for the rest - they either camped or stayed in some of the other little cabins.

Sat was really, really wet in the morning. I couldn't believe that by 11.00 we'd had steady rain all morning, and we were going through my "rainy day backup activities" already. Finally a break came and we wandered over to the "big" cabin to catch up with friends.

After lunchI took the twins down to the river to have a play, while Jonathan had a sleep. So much fun to be had with a bucket and spade and a never ending supply of cold water.

I also bought a kite for the boys ( and me) to have fun with. So we also gave this a burl on Norman Beach. We had a problem with a lack of wind though. couldn't get it far off the ground.
I am pleased with the kite ( bought it at Big W for $15, as it is nice and light to carry - and does fly with only a little wind.

Later that night we went possom and wombat hunting. Managed to see quite a few - then Cameron fell into a big pile of dirt. Face first. So we popped into the BIg cabin for a quick clean up and a chat. Poor thing. Both of us were only worried about whether that loose tooth was still in his mouth. he had also managed to "eat" a decent abount of dirt. The dirt on the face was more of an afterthought.

Here we all are, dressed up in our warm coats - and torches out for that wombat adventure.
